Principal's Message

Dear Nautilus K-8 Families and Community,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! At Nautilus, we are excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and community together. Our theme this year is “Chart the Course – Stay the Course.” It reflects our commitment to setting a clear direction for student success and working with consistency and perseverance to reach our goals.

Each morning, all scholars will gather in the gym for our Navigator Launch. This daily time together helps students start the day focused, connected, and ready to learn. Following our launch, scholars will participate in the Breakfast in the Classroom program while engaging in community building and social-emotional learning. This year, we are excited to introduce the PurposeFULL People curriculum in Grades K–5, and our middle school scholars will continue to grow their leadership and character through daily advisory lessons with Character Strong.

As Navigators, we believe every child deserves to feel a deep sense of belonging as a member of our academic community. That means being known, cared for, and challenged with consistent, high-quality instruction every day. Our focus this year continues to be on strengthening Tier 1 instruction—the rigorous, engaging learning experiences all students receive in their classrooms—while also providing Tier 2 supports that meet the needs of students who benefit from additional interventions and extensions. Teachers and specialists regularly collaborate through PLC meetings and MTSS data conversations to review progress and plan next steps so that all scholars have the opportunity to thrive.

We are also proud to provide opportunities for leadership and responsibility, such as our school job program for 4th and 5th graders, and we continue to prioritize student ownership of learning in every classroom.

Nautilus is a place where families and staff work in partnership to chart the course for student growth. Thank you for trusting us with your child’s learning journey. Together, we will stay the course and help every student navigate toward success.
